Q

Why aren't you coming back to Naperville, Il in March?

Donna Ulisse responded on 10/05/2010
A

Great question and one better asked to the festival folks. Terry and Jan Lease are wonderful to me and my Poor Mountain Boys and are having us at several of their other festivals this year but unfortunately not Naperville...at least so far....lol!

Q

What is your favorite instrument in a Bluegrass band?

Donna Ulisse responded on 10/05/2010
A

Well, this is a tough question as I love them all but if I must choose I would have to say that the guitar, flat top! I write for a living during the week and have to use that for my melody writing. It's my tool and helps me create my songs.
Have a blessed day my friend!

Q

I really like her albums especially like that of "If tomorrow never comes" I'll like to have some of the albums.

Donna Ulisse responded on 09/07/2010

You might be referring to my old Atlantic album. There is a song on there that has the line "tomorrow everything will be alright...but tonight, i want to fall apart with you"...would that be the song you are talking about? My new stuff is a little different these days but still has the country approach to my vocals. I'm writing my tunes and really enjoying the bluegrass world. I hope you will give it a listen and let me know what you think. You can hear it on my myspace site....myspace.com/donnastanleyulisse.
peace,
Donna

Q

What brand of upright bass is the one that Bobby King plays? I like the sound; it has a big sounding "low end".
And again, the show at The Old Mill was "over the top" !!! We enjoyed so much !

Donna Ulisse responded on 09/07/2010
A

I'll have to ask Bobby what that is. I know that his dream is to own an old Kay. We stop and look in pawn shops as we travel....it's something all the band members enjoy. Thank you for being in the audience at Old Mill...we had a grand time!

Q

Outside of your family, who had the most influence on your music style?

Donna Ulisse responded on 09/07/2010
A

Hmmm....good question. I think I would have to say Loretta Lynn. I loved her as a little girl and continue to appreciate her voice and her writing to this day.

Q

Where can we hear your music online?

Donna Ulisse responded on 09/07/2010

Q

No question, just so wonderful that you are back touring and creating beautiful music. I have been in awe of your beauty and humbled by your singing. Joined fan club in '91 and I love your voice!

Oh....thank you so much for your encouragement! I really feel like I have happened into a genre that suits the new Donna and I'm having a grand time making this music. The stage has never felt more comfortable and I'm loving the writing part. I hope I'll get to see you along my music journey. I sure appreciate that you've been a part of my life since '91...why....you've watched me grow ;)

Q

Do you plan on taking Molly on your tour or any of
your engagements?

Donna Ulisse responded on 08/17/2010
A

Well, funny you should ask about Molly touring with us....I have been thinking about it non-stop! She is so good natured, sweet and she minds. As soon as I can land myself a full blown tour bus I would like to train her to travel :)
