What should I ask?

Pretty simple, ask whatever you want to know about. Try to keep it appropriate, but otherwise, just be yourself!

Q: Are you breaking in the new guitar? Have you kept your busted Martin? Really made me tear up when I saw that photo. Hope you come WEST soon. Any chance?
A: Hi Regi,

I am a little sad about my old guitar. I wrote so many of my songs on that shapely wood and it's hard to think she's quiet now. I kept the guitar and have had luthier friends of mine offer to fix it. I just might let them try if it's not going to set my wallet back into the dark ages.

The new Martin is trying hard to impress me. She's already coughed up 3 new songs and ready to writer number 4. I love the guitar, it's a 1987 D-28 with lot's of dings and scratches telling stories of being played LOTS.

thank you for checking in on me and I hope to make it out your way soon.

peace,
Donna

Q: When are you going to be in the Greensboro area? Any chance of playing at Merlefest?
A: wow...i would so LOVE to play Merlefest but can't seem to figure out how to get on that stage. I have tried begging, pleading and offering up both of my dogs to no avail. Maybe a bunch of fans could demand I be part of next years line up! How's that for subtle hinting...lol. I am shameless :)

My website has a schedule of my tour dates that my record company keeps current. It's donnaulisse.com and then the schedule tab. Maybe there is a date on there that wouldn't be too much of a stretch for you. I would love to be in your area or within driving distance and hopefully get to tell you hello.

Take care my friend!

Q: Hope to catch you live sometime. It would be a treat for me.
Grew up on Bluegrass. My dad found a part to an old Gibson Mastertone 5 string and had it rebuilt. Man we had some good times playing.
A: I love the rebuilt banjo story and the memories you guys made. I hope you continue to be inspired by bluegrass, it sure has inspired me!
take care my friend,
Donna

Q: Where will you celebrate New Years Eve?
Wishing you all the best for 2012.
Kurt
A: hi Kurt,

This year we will be celebrating New Years Eve right here at home. A few friends will join us to play games and eat more food...lol. It's never ending. I am quite certain we will break out the guitars at some point because a gathering at my house has to include bluegrass.

We will raise a glass to you and yours Kurt,

Q: Been infatuated listening to 'The Trouble With You". Are you writing from observation or experience?

Whichever, its a great song.
A: Hi Dave,

I'm so happy to know that you are enjoying the song. I love singing it live actually, it's fun!

I wrote that song about my best friends daughter. She was dating a good looking fella and she was very territorial concerning him. Word was that she was thrown out of many a fine bar because she didn't like anyone looking at her man. They are no longer together which might be a good thing....lol.

You take care and have a wonderful New Year,
